The RECOMMIT Project, funded by Erasmus+, reached a significant milestone as it officially entered its implementation phase, marking the start of its impactful journey. The first session was held on June 18, 2024, at the Eleonas Thebes Women’s Prison in Greece, delivering remarkable outcomes. This innovative program combined traditional teaching methods with Virtual Reality (VR) technology to provide detainees with critical social skills, enhanced workplace communication abilities, and boosted self-confidence. By immersing participants in practical, skill-building experiences, the program aimed to support their successful reintegration into society.
The session culminated in a certificate award ceremony, attended by prominent officials, including representatives from the Ministry of Citizen Protection, the General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights, and KETHI. Their presence underscored the importance and recognition of the project’s efforts to create meaningful change. The RECOMMIT team expressed pride in the program’s initial success and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding its reach. As implementation continues across partner countries in Europe, the project promises to empower more detainees with tools for personal growth and societal contribution, setting a strong foundation for a brighter future.
